Storylands Sessions: A Community Project for Music, Storytelling, Poetry and Song
Do you want to help nurture and celebrate the rich stories and gifts of the people in your area? Do you want to be part of creating home and hope through art?
If yes, then we invite you to become a Sessions Star by sponsoring the Storylands Sessions, a series of community events that bring people together in music, storytelling, poetry and song. The Storylands Sessions are run by Badenoch Heritage, a local charity that promotes the history, culture and environment of the region. The project is led by two talented and experienced local artists: Hamish Napier, folk musician, and Merryn Glover, writer.
The Storylands Sessions have four core activities:
- Monthly folk music workshop by Hamish, teaching both traditional and contemporary tunes and songs.
- Monthly creative writing workshops by Merryn, guiding participants to craft stories and poems.
- Monthly show, featuring performances by the community and special guests from various fields.
- Annual ceilidh concert, showcasing the best of the Sessions year.
The Storylands Sessions are open to everyone, regardless of age, background or ability. We foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where people can express themselves, learn new skills, enjoy quality entertainment and connect with others. We believe that the Storylands Sessions are not just about preserving culture, but about re-igniting it together.

By sponsoring the Storylands Sessions, you will help us cover the costs of venue hire, equipment, publicity, fees and travel expenses.
