Join us for the first in a series of guided walks with Badenoch The Storylands!

Badenoch The Storylands and Badenoch Heritage are delighted to launch a series of guided walks in partnership with Sarah Hobbs of Strathspey Storywalks, as part of Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022. The walks will share stories, folklore and histories of lesser-known but truly fascinating parts of Badenoch.

Each walk will cover small sections of routes that are available for free on the Badenoch The Storylands app, to whet your appetite. The app includes music, stories and history for self-guided walking, cycling and driving routes.

Guided Walk #1

Friday 15 April 2022

Where the River Feshie meets the River Spey, there are fascinating stories and histories to be heard. Come and join a guided walk around Dalnavert to explore this little-known but captivating part of Badenoch.

Brimming with tales of gruesome ghosts and fairy hills to the historical links with empire and colonialism, the walk brings together archaeology, folklore, culture, history and storytelling.

Bring waterproofs, wellies or sturdy walking boots, and a good dollop of curiosity.

The circular walk of just under 3 miles lasts approximately 2.5 hours, and is on forestry tracks and footpaths. It is rough and rocky underfoot in places.

We’re sorry but no dogs – the walking route passes through a working farm with sheep.

There are 12 places on this walk.

Book your tickets here!
